So far, 2 coats of dye (out of 3) on these pieces. The velveteen is really thirsty! I have a feeling that, after these are rinsed, I will not like the bright white background. Perhaps an opportunity to try a weak natural dye bath.

Painting adjacent stripes of color on this piece from the reclaimed linen damask is good practice blending the dyes.
